Jack

Hello friends,

Hope you guys are enjoying your day.... It's hard to believe that it is already almost November.
That reminds me.... It is only five days till NANO starts!!! I sure am nervous. :)

I have determined that the name I am using for the young doctor is going to be Jack. It's another form for John. I think it's a nice name. :)

David Copperfield
I still need to come up with a name for the villain. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Well I'm excited.

Have a lovely day,

It's Coming!

Dear friends,

Next month starts is National Novel Writing Month! I am pretty excited... It's hard to believe that in just a little more then two weeks I will be furiously writing my newest novel!

I'm excited! Did I already say that? :P

Anyhow I am not on here to rave. I have a favor to ask of my readers. I need help coming up with a name for one of my characters. My story is set in 19th century England(think Jane Austen, Charles Dickens) and has a young practicing doctor in his twenties.  I have tried some names but can not come up with a good name to suit a doctor.

Names I have tried:

~ Walter- ummmmm..... I don't know. I think it sounds too childish perhaps.
~ Mark- This was the original name but somehow it does not seem to be a name from the 19th century.

Anyhow.... If you have any ideas please leave a comment!

Write or Die... (I mean it.)

Dear fellow writers,

Have you ever wished that someone would make you write your novel?

Well here is a good way to do it. I don't know if you have clicked that link for the Write Or Die website on the side of my page yet but on the website the  author has a  free online program that will allow you to set the amount of time that you want to write and how many words you want to write.

After you have set these two things you can then set the mode on gentle, normal , or kamikaze Mode.

Then you can set the grace period at forgiving, strict, or evil.

The point of this program is to encourage you to continue to write by threatening to set off loud and unpleasant noises if you stop writing for too long. :P Many of them I have not experienced and do not plan to. :)

I have found the program to be very wonderful when I am experiencing writer's block.
Anyway use the program if you dare and watch out for the pink screen. :P

Happy writing,

You have to kill it. :)

Sorry after such a brutal title I thought I should put a smiley face to relive you feelings.

When I read this quote I just knew that I had to put it on my writing blog.

What do you think of it?

Writing a book is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement; then it becomes a mistress, and then it becomes a master, and then a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster, and fling him out to the public.

Writing....

Hello there,

Here is a good tip for you if you have ever felt like writing a book: ANYONE CAN WRITE A BOOK!

I know that it may seem like a large leap of faith for many of us but after you write your first short book you began to feel a lot more comfortable writing. The first book that I wrote was in 2009 with a program called NaNoWriMo. (Young writer's program) This is a free program for writers that takes place once a year. Ever I took I took this challenge it has seemed more easy for me to write books.

Lately I have been working on writing a new book that I hope to get published some day. I know that there is a lot of bad fiction out there but I am striving in book to make the most of my words. I want my book to be a encouragement to others not just another book.

Right about now I am not writing so much I am reading books about how to write a good fiction book. :) I have found quite a few good ones at the library.

I don't normally get that many books at a time but this particular evening I requested EIGHT books all about fiction writing! (Don't laugh, if you are a big reader this may not seem like that many books to you. But for me it seems like a lot. ) So I have quite a few books on my writing desk just waiting for me to read them. :)
I have found that the more reading I do about writing the more inspired I feel about actually writing my book.

So if you are interested in writing a good book I would suggest that you do these things:

(1)- Make sure that you have a good reason or motivation for writing this book.

(2)- read some books about writing. But keep this in mind, while the information that you are finding may be very good information it may not all work for your writing style. You don't have to follow every single direction that they give you. Be flexible and do what you are comfortable doing. A good one to start with I think would be How to write your book (Guaranteed!) / Williams, Thomas A. (Just be careful when you read it. I have not quite finished it and am not sure it all if it is appropriate.)

(3)- find some good inspiration. I love to read writer's blogs that can be so inspiring to read. Here is a link to a good writer's blog that I have found.

(4)- Don't give up no matter how much you want to. Just take a break if you feel like you need to. Sometimes you just need a break. :)

Feel free to comment and let me know if you have any questions....

Happy writing...

Happy Spring!! :)

Under the greenwood tree.

Under the greenwood tree,
Who loves to lie with me,
And turn his merry note
Unto the sweet bird's throat,

Come hither, come hither, come hither!
Here shall he see
No enemy
But winter and rough weather.

Happy Spring dear readers!!!

Sweet little girls.....

Me...

Walter de la Mare

As long as I live I shall always be My Self- and no other,
just me.

Like a tree.

Like a willow or elder,
An aspen, a thorn,
Or a cypress forlorn.

Like a flower,
For its hour
A primrose, a pink,
Or a violet-
Sunned by the sun,
And with dewdrops wet.

Anyways just me.

Voila wonderful gingerbread.
Merry Christmas to you from all our family!

The rope to help you off the cliff-hanger!

Ok, I will now throw you a rope! ( You were on a cliff-hanger. Get it? :) )

Here is the next part to my story!

Rushing back the house we got there on time, by Angela’s watch but unfortunately not on our governess’s watch. When we got there our governess was standing on the patio tapping her foot with her open watch in her hand.
“You’re late,” she said grimly, looking us from over her gold rimmed spectacles.
“Yes governess,” Angela said, dropping a hasty curtsy to her governess. “Outings can be so much fun and….” “But we were studying!”I interrupted hastily.
“A lady does not interrupt her sister.” Our governess replied in surprise and a engagement is an engagement!”
“ Yes governess,” we all replied in humility.
“Now go up to your room and fix your hair and change your dresses.” Our governess said in a softened tone.

Later that day we were all in the drawing room working. Alana was at the piano and I was reading a book on etiquette in a soft love seat.

“Alana, hold your fingers in a more curved position.” Our governess instructed her in frustration for the fourth time that lesson. I smiled and remembered that very tone from when I was little taking piano. Alana was thirteen years old and definitely the shy one of the family and easily unnerved. Thus explaining why she was to forget her teacher’s instruction a million times.
Suddenly I felt a hand on mine. It was my mother. She was standing there silently listening to my sister’s music.
She smiled at me. “That was your father’s favorite,” she said softly. “I used to play it for him over and over again.” My mother had loved our father dearly, but we had lost him in an accident a few years before this. It broke all of us to pieces but far more in the case of our mother, so much so that she had not played piano since the unfortunate happening. I used to ask her to play but it always upset her so much I was afraid to do it.
I looked at her and saw the tears form in her eyes again.
“God knows and understands, Momma. He will never leave you or forsake you,” I whispered in her ear. “I know,” my mother smiled, “and he is happy and free now with the Lord. Someday soon I will see him again.” She wiped the tears from her eye with a handkerchief and smiling said, “Now dear why don’t you run down to the kitchen and find out what Angela is doing down there.”

Chapter two- A lesson in bread baking.

Matthew 5:16- Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Although my family had a great deal of money and had the chance to live in total laziness my mother believed that women, whether rich or poor, should always know the simple basics of how to care for a family and keep house.
Thus high noon found Angela not in her room reading a novel but in the trying task of baking bread.
Angela impatiently blew the hair out of her eyes and complained, "I do wish that bread making was more like reading a novel than this." I smiled. Angela never did like to cook and baking bread was definitely not her favorite thing to do.

Angela went over and started to peel the potatoes that were for dinner, her face still unhappy.
I went to her and even though I hated to peel potatoes I said, "Angela would you like me to help you?" Angela smiled. "I would like that dear, but you are in your evening dress and you will get potato skins all over it.” "Oh who cares about my silly dress?" I said gaily. “I would much rather help my dear sister-in-distress!” Angela laughed. “Well how can I deny you the pleasure of this wonderful pastime? Grab that apron off the hook over behind the door and lets get at it!"
"Angela do you remember how we used to sit in your room together when we were younger and read books?" "Yes, and how we used to have pillow fights when one of us would not take a turn at reading?" Angela chimed in. "We used to have such fun together," I sighed. Angela laughed gaily."Why! Are we not having the most fun ever right here simply peeling potatoes?" For doing things with her little sister made always made the homeliest chore seem fun. "I only wish that I might have been here to help you with the bread!" I said laughing. Angela’s face went to bright red in a matter of seconds. “Oh, the bread!" she cried, dropping the potato that she was peeling and rushing to the oven it was rising in.

“Oh no!” Angela groaned for where there used to be neat loaves of bread there were only great mountains of dough. For a second I did not know what to do I felt so sorry for us but on the other hand it looked kind of funny to one that had not spent her entire afternoon baking bread. There I stood in silence when suddenly I heard the last thing that I was expecting. Angela was laughing, and suddenly the funniness of it all hit me so hard that I began to laugh as well.

"Oh, Angela I am so sorry!” I cried, the tears running down my face but it is so funny. This merriment as most, is not to be kept to one party and soon the rest of the girls found out that something was going on and came to see what the merriment was.
"Angela what happened to your bread?" asked Emily in horror. Angela laughed. "Haven't you had your own problems dear sister, like the time your mashed potatoes were so hard that they almost cracked momma tooth." "Oh don't bring that up!" cried Emily in embarrassment, covering her face with her hands.
Meanwhile Grace was looking at the glob of dough in disgust.
"What kind a monster is it Anglia?" she asked.
"That my dear, is the monster of the injustice of housework!"
"Oh my!” cried Daisy. “Get me out of here! I'm too young to die!”

I hope that you enjoy this!

Long awaited enjoyment!!!

Dear friends,

Here is the long awaited story! I have had a lot of fun writing it and it is finely here!

Here are the reasons that I am posting this...

~ To encourage young women in the Lord.
~ Cause women to build strong relationships with their friends but mostly sisters.
~ To give pure enjoyment to those that want to grow in the Lord.

P.s- I am writing under the pen-name of Flo Comrad.

So without further adiau the exciting story of the Gibson girls......
Six Sisters…..

Chapter one- The Gibson girls at home!

Philippians 4:4- Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

There is nothing so sweet as having a best friend and better yet for that to be your sister .
-Flo comrad…..

My name is Sara Gibson and it is my fondest wish to tell the you the story of my family and who we are by the grace of God. This is the story of my life and that of my family…
A bevy of young girls come skipping out of a large house, some carrying parasols , others books , and still others cushions and sewing. The one in the lead is Angela, and after her comes Daisy, Emily, Sara, Alana, and little Grace the darling and pet of the whole family.
“Come Daisy, you know that our governess told us that we must be studying when we are on this little outing. Come and bring me your book of Latin so that I can quiz you on it.” Angela called in a sweet toned voice.
“Oh, what does the word outing mean if we can not do the normal things that you are supposed to do?” grumbled Daisy, plopping herself down on a cushion near her older sister.
“Now dearest, would you like to bring me your Bible instead and let me show you what it says about grumbling?” asked Angela in a gentle chiding tone.
“Oh, I know that verse,” piped up little Grace who although not more then five years old already knew many Bible verses. “That verse says, ‘Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!’”
“ That’s wonderful Grace!” praised Angela as she reached over and hugged her sister.

Emily reached over and tucking a flower into the offender’s hair smiled sweetly.
“Never mind dear, I will say it with you for my Latin is in need of improvement too, our governess says.” “Do you mean that you are going to speak duck again?” asked Grace in confusion. Angela looked at Grace in surprise. “Why you silly little goose, who gave you that idea?” “Why, Alana did! She told me that you look and act just like a duck when you speak it!” Angela got off her cushion with the air of a judge and walking over to the offender spoke in mock stern tones.
“Why Alana would you dare to say such a thing about your elders?”
“Yes madam I did, oh please forgive me and I will never say such things again.” She cried, falling on her knees with a mock downcast face. “Yes my dear I will forgive you this once but never let it happen again or off to the drawing room you go for your piano work.”
All of us girls laughed merrily, for we all knew that was a small price for Alana, and in fact not to be considered a punishment at all for Alana was very found of music.
I don’t know if you have ever noticed that time is apt to run very fast when there are merry things going on, but all of the sudden it dawned on me.
“ Oh, the drawing room!” I cried out in surprise, “Mrs. Phillips will be there by now and,oh how she will scold when we are late!”

Wow, I am wonderful at leaving off at Cliff-hangers!

To be continued soon......
